In truth, "unretiring" is not even a word found in dictionaries. It has been coined, copyrighted,
and incorporated in our logo to describe members.
We all know people who were virtually "retired" even when they were in high school... They
had low expectations, and no goals. Oppositely, we also know people in their '80s and even '90s who are as vibrantly engaged
in living today -- despite infirmities -- as they were when they were young.
Basically, "Unretiring People" are individuals who are never quite content... but always have
yet another "itch" to scratch. UP members never were quiet... and certainly have no intention of "going quietly" into a traditional
retirement or even their interment.
"Unretiring People" just don't moan and groan... they directly cause change by taking
charge, in ways that they can. "Unretiring People" lobby through their personal actions, not the voice of others. PAC, traditionally
an acromym for a politcal action committee, has an entirely different meaning to USAUP members: PAC means a Personal Action
Commitment.
Should you cancel your memberships to other organizations? Hardly.... There are many good
organizations out there... each with their own purposed agenda. While USAUP may spill-over onto some of their agendas
-- and even disagree with others -- as an organization, USAUP's goal is provide a unique set of membership benefits.
And, over time, our core benefits will expand.
"Unretiring People" are everywhere... of all ages and all walks of life. So, if
you consider yourself to be "unretiring," you should find this site interesting and our membership exciting.
Welcome.
